DAVIDE RONCO

Davide Ronco (IT), is a graduate of the Ceramic MA at the Royal Danish Academy and is currently undergoing a postgraduate program at Konstfack University: Research Lab Craft. He lives and works in Copenhagen. His artistic practice is rooted in extensive material research and a commitment to solid craftsmanship. Through his work, he challenges conventional tools and methodologies, using site-specific installations and temporary interventions to explore the dichotomy between the natural and the artificial. Among others, he utilizes locally sourced clay and challenges the limitations of the material by embracing its inherent cracks and imperfections, and rammed earth in a manner that accentuates its temporal and decaying nature, rather than attempting to shield it from the effects of weather conditions.

AOI YOSHIZAWA

Aoi Yoshizawa is an artist and textile designer based in Helsinki. She holds a MA from Aalto University (2015) and a BFA from the Bergen National Academy of Arts (2011). Aoi's artistic practice is motivated by the repetitive actions, mechanisms and slow processes of weaving. Currently she explores hand-weaving techniques through her experimental loom-making process. She investigates traditional weaving methods and reinterprets them into contemporary practices in her loom installations; revealing the creative process counter to industrial efficiency.

AINO MICHELSEN

Aino Michelsen is a Helsinki-born furniture designer. She graduated with an MA, in 2017, from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and after that returned to Helsinki to start her studio. In her work, she is driven to explore new materials through a variety of projects, from upholstered furniture to rattan. Scale models and model building are key parts of her design process. During a project she values the dialogue with experts from different fields, taking into close regard who she is designing for, who the manufacturer is, and what kind of collaboration evolves during the process.

VILLE AUVINEN

Ville Auvinen is a Helsinki-based designer-maker in the truest sense. He moves effortlessly between sculptural expression and industrial production. You can usually find him in the wood workshop testing new ideas and making prototypes. His designs are rooted in the rich heritage of Finnish design and craft - honoring the materials and finding clever solutions for industrial production. Through his work Ville is searching for beauty and harmony through simple expression. While working with furniture brands Ville likes to keep his hands connected to the craft by producing his own collection of furniture.
